Frangipani seeds
« on: December 03, 2012, 23:20 »
Hello, When I was on my travels I saw a lot of exotic plants, now I would like to try and grow them here in the UK and with al the cold wet weather we have, I know it may not be an easy thing, but the help I got here with my Jasmine plants was really good and they have really taken off and are doing well

Its FrangiPani seeds I am after, I have only seen one here in the UK, so I thought I would give them a try, I know they would have no chance in the garden, but they may do well in the consevatory

So we can I get seeds from ?

I have seen them on ebay, but I dont know how old they are and they come from the back of beyond, mainly Asia, I dont know if they would get past Customs anyway, I should have picked some up when I was in Austrailia, they had some really nice plants and trees there, especially the Jacaranda tree, the leaves turn into purple, mauve flowers and they are everywhere

So people where can I get these Frangipani seeds? (rather than ebay)

It's all about the journey, not the destination

http://plumeriasuk.com/

I have no personal experience of growing frangipani, but these folk behind this website do.

They may well be able to advise you

Hope that helps  :D

I bought some from ebay, too late to plant them this year but they should be ok it a couple of months (I hope!)
But for 99p including postage from Thailand its not too much to risk.

Edit:
I just checked the person I bought them from, seems the price has gone up a bit!

probably the same I was looking at, but decided not to, I found a website over here that have them, and they were cheaper
 http://plumeriasuk.com/ & http://www.adeniumstore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=118&zenid=36mvmkc6uhspffgkj6pr3k5uh7

I'll post how I get on and what their speed of shipping is

But its still reasonably warm in my conservatory so I may give a few seeds a try, when they arrive ;)
