Hi everyone - long time since I've posted but need some advice if possible...

We picked up 4 new girls last week - 2 Buff Orpingtons and 2 Welsummers - we were advised that they were about a year old, and were laying.
However, since we brought them home on Thursday we haven't had a single egg - could it just be that they need to settle in a bit before they start to lay again, or is it something more sinister??

Hope someone expert will be along to advise!!

I would give them a bit longer, its very unsettling being moved and provided they seem healthy that's more than likely the cause of them not laying.

We have now had the grand total of one egg in a week from four hens.
We wonder if they might be agraphobic - they were pretty closed in and in a dark area with no real access to outside when we got them - maybe our set up is a bit of a shock to them!!

Some chooks will continue to lay as usual and others are put off for a while. Be patient and I am sure they will settle.
