Peach blossom
« on: August 28, 2012, 20:34 »
I have a peach tree in a sheltered place in the back garden, which started off with lots of fruit at the start of the year.
All there was by this weekend were 4 semi ripe peaches.
As I was putting out the rubbish this evening, I looked across at the tree to see only 3 semi ripe peaches, and ..............little pink blossoms

Peach trees can easily be fooled by weather, and if the cold rains have slowed down and the weather melllowed out then blossoming will happen. You can pinch them off or leave them because soon enough they'll fall off when cold fall weather approaches.

My peach had lots of little fruits earlier in the year but every single one dropped off before ripening :(

I'm putting it down to the weather. Just one of my many failures  this year ::)

Think I will leave the blossom on as it looks so pretty, especially as the nights are drawing in. :)
Hope the 3 peaches survive and looking forward to the next growing session    :)
