Raspberries - wee caterpillar things inside :(
« on: July 23, 2012, 10:39 »
Hi.  I seem to have this problem every year, can anyone help, please?

I have raspberries, and about half-way through the cropping period (they are summer ones - and have started early this year), they get wee grubby caterpillar things inside the fruit.  It makes the fruit have black bits on and they don't store at all well - plus of course I have to pick these things out.

Does anyone know what they are, and how to get rid of them, please?

Thanks in advance

Jane

Welcome to the site  :D

Could it be raspberry beetle?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hi Yorkie, thank you!

EEEWwwwwww, yes, that's the thing.

I don't really want to use chemicals on something we eat, does anyone have any ideas for organic (or as close to) control of these nasties?

Thanks
