Like most, I was getting depressed at how hard this year has been
But after looking at some before and after pictures of my lotty, maybe it's not so bad

Looks like you harvested your onions a little early , normally left till the leaves startto yellow and lay down.

Those are my shallots, the bugs were starting to make homes and the wet was getting in, so as I make pickled onions(shallots) out of them, I decided to yank them and dry them.
