Personally I would think it is too late (mine are only just flowering after 10-12 weeks of sowing) but then we might get an Indian Summer - however, I think I'd rather be looking forward to the other autumn/winter harvests instead.

That's what I was thinking. I have lifted my potatoes and I have a big empty area waiting for something to be planted. I've got the pickling bug and some gherkin seeds. Oh well next year I will be a bit earlier. Maybe I can plant some red cabbage instead.
