i dont quite get why it might be considered cruel??

so for a matter of months, would it really be cruel to have one male and one female    :?:

Get two girls now and add a boy when you get a few more girls

I wouldn't get overly anthropomorphic about this ... ducks is ducks and drakes is drakes - they'll settle down to a daily routine no matter what.  Just make sure you avoid having more drakes than ducks.

rosemary sorry yes i did read your post earlier, i'm not quite sure how the wild birds behaviour compares with 'domestics' but i suppose in the end they're all 'wild' regardless of how domesticated people think they've bread them  . . .

i'm getting the general idea now that one and one might not make for ducky bliss, well, from the females point of view anyway lol, cant see the drake complaining myself  . . . . .  hmmm . . . . . .  now i know we'd have room for three, just got to slowly try and convince my OH that the time to increase is before we've even got them lol
