Idiot blight question
« on: July 06, 2012, 08:40 »
Is potato blight the same as the blight that gets tomatoes? If we're in a full Smith period here, should I be protecting my tomatoes too?

Yes and yes. Tomatoes are probably more suseptable than potatoes and if you get it on the fruit they are ruined.

Ok - thanks - I've got that Bayer Fruit and Vegetable Disease Control thing - is that the right one to use?

Preventative spraying is better than doing it at the first signs.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

From the Bayer website - instructions for use:

"Application method
Spray

Morning or late afternoon is the best time to spray. Do not spray in bright sunshine. Plants should be sprayed when foliage is dry and the spray should have time to dry on the leaves before rainfall occurs "

Haaa haaa haaa....!
