weighing for worming
« on: June 28, 2012, 23:41 »
My chooks are coming up due to be wormed. most sites i have looked at for flubenvets says you have to state how much your chooks weigh. Just wondering what is the easiest way of doing this??

Do you mean in order to buy Flubenvet Dawnuss ?  Where I buy mine you have to fill in a couple of questions e.g. are you selling eggs and have you used the product before, but not the weight of your chooks.

If you have to state this info on the site you buy from, I would say the easiest way was to weigh yourself holding chuck and then deduct your weight or if you have a cardboard box they will fit in, weigh them in this and deduct the weight of the box.

Would be fun trying to get them to sit still on scales

If they are hybrids, they will weight between 1.5 and 2kgs each, probably in the middle of that weight!  Purebreeds a little more.

I buy mine from the BHWT website but only because they get a little of the profit.

Last time I used this one Dawnmuss, but shop around as they are not always the cheapest, just sometimes I get emails offering me discount as I buy other stuff from them  ;)

If it's any help you can also buy Marriages layers pellets with the Flubenvet already added.
