I've started chitting mine in my heated propagator in some wetted kitchen roll (put some cardboard underneath to stop them from cooking) then transplanted them into modules with some capilliary matting underneath in the greenhouse.  Worked a treat with my peas and the beans seem to be following suit.

I'm having major problems with mine too - germination has simply not taken place for my outdoor beans.  I'm going to soak them, then sow them in the greenhouse and sing to them.  Peas are dreadful too round here - has to be the miserable weather.

I sowed french beans in pots in the greenhouse last year and the year before and had no problem with germination. This year, my first lot at the beginning of May all failed, the second sowing in mid-May got 4 out of 10 to come up, the third sowing at the end of the month got just 3 of 10 to sprout so I got my heated propagator back out and sowed into Rootrainers stood in it for bottom warmth and 32/32 came up in just a couple of days. The weather  just hasn't been onside this year.
