Moulting, now??
« on: June 21, 2012, 21:26 »

Two of our chooks are what looks like to be going through a (partial) moult?

But this time of year? I thought they shed their feathers and grew new one for the 'new year'

Any ideas?

From my experience there is no set time when birds moult. One 3 year old hen has had one full moult (that was so funny.....oven-ready comes to mind) and a couple of partials and the rest have just had partials so far.
They do look scruffy, don't they!!
