Limp brassicas Calabrese
« on: June 09, 2012, 14:48 »
I have planted out some Calabrese today. Although I watered them in well some of them have gone rather limp. Will they recover?
I have also got some Calabrese with rather long stems until the first leaf. Will it do them any harm to put these in a little deeper and have more of the stem below the ground.
Thanks.

They'll recover.

Yes, plant them deeper.

Simples!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

If it is very windy or hot sun I shade my newly planted brassicas with debris netting to help them recover more quickly from planting

I know it isn't really necessary but after all the effort of carefully growing them to this point, I want to give them the best chance

(DD'll call me a softie I expect  )

You're a softie.

I wouldn't have minded if you had just said -- Well, how kind you are to your plants, Sunny
