Ideas for storing allotment stuff anyone?
« on: May 30, 2012, 21:32 »
The area at the side of our greenhouse (officially the shared path that actually goes nowhere)  is getting more and more untidy.  I confess to being a bit of a magpie.  My husband dreads those words "this could be useful at the allotment".

I have built a water butt stand out of pallets which has storage for pots underneath, but otherwise I am struggling.

Has anyone got any tips for storing:
- bamboo canes (I use a couple of old chimney pots at home but these would be nicked at the lottie)
- bits of useful old wood
- fleece and netting when not in use
- Bits of guttering that I plan to use for starting off peas (one day)
- Bottle cloches when not in use
- Blue pvc pipe when not in use

I don't have space in the shed for many of these things as I have now have to make space for mini golf sets, sandpits, toy jeeps, toy diggers, potty and various other child related paraphenalia.

I need some allotment space-saving storage ingenuity - I am lacking ideas at the mo!

Thanks!

Put some hooks on the side, available in poundland, great for laying bamboo canes and hanging lots of stuff.

Depending on the size of your shed.
I store canes across lengths of timber from one side of the shed to the other in the apex. This also takes any fleece not in use and the netting as long as they are not to heavy you would be surprised how much stuff you can store above your head .

Try gutter brackets on the side of the shed for longer canes you can also put you length of guttering on the brackets first if you buy larger brackets than the guttering.
