I think one of the 4 week old chicks has a prolapse of some sort (looks like it has a large red current hanging out that pops in and out at freewill)

I noticed it last night and by the time i had prepared it a warm bath it had popped back in.

It was back out this morning so i've bathed its bum and popped it back in and seperated it from the others for its own protection. They can still see each other so they are not stressed from being seperated

I suspect it will be in and out a few times.

Is there anything i need to do and will it have a long term effect on it

It is chirpy and eating and drinking ok.

Personally I would cull.  The bird will probably have huge difficulties in laying, and a "live" prolapse is inviting the other chicks to peck at it.

Having seen a hen being eaten alive by the rest of the flock, it is something which should be avoided at all costs.
