face cream
« on: May 19, 2012, 21:47 »
Does anybody have a tried and tested recipe for face cream? I am sick to death of paying these extortionate (is that how you spell it ) prices for a jar of cream that lasts less than a month. Ive got a houseful of essential oils so i can add my own fragrance. Im just looking for a base cream with no frills...

I don't either.  I may not be the prettiest person going, but every time I see my hairdresser she always remarks on how soft my skin is.  My Mum was the same.

But if I did, I think it would be nice to find a homemade recipe, but like you say, tried and tested!!!

I don't do expensive face cream.  I just use T*sco's aloe vera moisturising cream and it's very good, lasts for ages and I don't look 38 ( was told the other day I only looked like I was in my early 30's!  chuffed or what!)

My wife uses coconut based products, and she smells yummy and looks great  She buys a pot of what ever is on offer at the time of needing it. She never ever wear's make up (Dont know if that makes a difference to how good the skin is)
Thanks
Kris

I work for Boots and we sell face creams varying in price from £1.50 to £90+, people often comment that I don't look my age and I have to refrain from telling them that I don't put that muck on my face!

When I was at school we used to make face cream every year for the summer fayre -- cheap cold cream with added drops of rose oil worked through with a spoon. We also made a lavender version. It was certainly very luxurious to us

Bath salts were made out of epsom salts shaken up in a bag with a drop of cochineal and a drop or two of essential oil, then put in fancy bottles.
