With all this good, sunny (hot) weather, my coop's getting really warm.

The coop's our brick out building converted, so it's acting like a storage heater - heat up through the day, the release their heat later on.

I've got vents that are open all the time now, but it's still stifling in there.

Should I be worried, and could I also leave the main door ajar for more circulation?

If the chickens are safe with the main door open, then open it, give them as much air as you can.

They can suffer from overheating.

They're safe, there's another partition door inside, so I think they'll be fine.

You could also make an inner door covered with weldmesh (like a fly screen door) so it would be secure and ventilated. 

If you have a really hot day hosing the roofing with water (hosepipe bans permitting) will help cool it a little.

That's what the partition door and paneling made up of, so if/ when you go in late at night, I don't panic the chooks, they can see who it is.
