I've posted a few times on here recently about my exbats laying more and more soft shelled eggs.
That's now stopped but poor Sybil has started laying phantom eggs!
We have a coop cam so i can see when they lay.
for the last 2 days she's gone in at her usual time to lay, everything normal, except when i've gone straight out to check, in case it's soft shelled, no egg.
She's her normal happy little shelf, but is this normal behaviour?

I don't know anything about ex bats except they can have all sorts of problems. If she's been laying soft eggs have you tried giving her some extra calcium to help harden the shells. I believe it takes more out of them when they lay softies, you could mix up a bit of fishy cat meat into a mash for her.

It may be that she has a stuck or broken egg that she can not lay so best to give her a warm bath.  This should help her pass the egg.  You could also check her abdomen in case she is eggbound.

Thank you every one for your answers to this and the other posts.
We had 5 normal eggs yesterday!
So all the oystershells, lime flour ect that i'm giving them is working and i think Sybil just didn't want to be left out! 
I check their vents at least once a week along with every other check of them but have been looking when ever i found a soft egg to see if i could tell who'd laid it.
I think i've just got to except that poor Sybil and Evie are all laid out due to the way battery farming is and they can just enjoy being chickens!
