I'd be slightly worried if I lived in western Cornwall.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've still got some unused Dithane, (it's been withdrawn, not banned), but as the posting in the FAQ section says, it's been replaced by Bayer Fruit & Vegetable Disease Control .

I have some unused Dithane too. Bought it but didn't use it. Thanks for the info about 'Bayer Fruit & Veg Disease Control'. Not heard of it before.

Surely no one need worry about the dreaded "B" word already??  :ohmy:
Would it be "early" blight?  :unsure:

No doubt early blight - and someone in the Penzance area is worried about it!

With cats, a one off spay is usually successful!  :tongue2:

I don't know about the new stuff, but with Dithane it was repeat every 10 - 14 days, but there's no point if there's no threat.

However - you must realise that it's a prevention, not a cure, so it's best to err on the safe side.

Blight??? Already????? That's really depressing, I managed to get just a couple of tomatoes last year before I got blight (and they were of a variety I never grew before, Black Krim, that I thought tasted terrible) and I'm starting to think the plants I'm growing now have no hope either :-(

Don't panic.... as far as I know it's "early" blight.

Try this link for information:    Blight - it may help.  ;)

I hope it was the way you grew them. I was that impressed with mine I saved the seeds. I passed some on & now quite a few on this forum are growing them. They'll blame me if they're no good!

That's why I'm not growing them  ::)
I think it must depend on your soil - fingers crossed for everyone who's trying them  :)

We all like different things, I guess... I was impressed about how productive and robust they were (before the blight) but neither I, my husband nor a friend I gave a plant to liked the taste. I had tried them because they often get good reviews, so your friends might very well like them!
I'm trying some Albenga and some Ailsa Craig instead this year, together with the tried and tested Sungold and Gardener's Delight; we'll see if I like them better (blight permitting...).
