Hi all
I have a Sussex bantam that we got in October 2011.  She didn't have wattle or comb but as she was only approximately 8 weeks old though nothing of it.  We have now had her seven months and she still has no comb or wattle.  She is also not laying!! - any thoughts on why please?

she was probably the runt of the litter - is she normal size?

Hmm probably - we bought her from Newton Abbot market and the breeder did say she was going to put in a trio but the cockerel died the day before and she put her'Charlie' in instead!  She's normal size though but the others do bully her and she is definitely the last in the pecking order but seems happy enough.

There are the odd cases where a hen either never lays or waits until they are well over 1 year old and she may be one of these

Nugget never laid at all and Poppy didn't lay for her 1st year at all the had 6 and went broody and so the pattern continued.
