Goldie has done her job we have the piter patter of little feet, we have 3 that's hatched 3 more to go, I have put the chick crum in with goldie for a few days now do I just leave them or clean out the shell? I dont want to upset the family to much.

It's great time after mr fox came round & took a couple girls so this nearly makes up for it, that's why I don't want anything to go wrong should I leave then in the hutch in the field or bring them in the stable?

Really pleased for you after the fox upset, our 1st 2 hatched this morning with 3 to go. Also wondering about shells?

  Great news.

You will probably find that mum will shuffle the egg shells out from under her to make room for the chicks.  If she does you can take them out, if she doesn't just leave well alone.

Both my hutches were outside but in a sheltered position.  Try not to move it until mum has come off the nest and decided all the eggs that are viable have hatched.  She has managed fine up til now so should be fine.  Just make sure the rain can't get in. 

Looking forward to seeing some more chick pics.
