As long as each spud has some chits and they are short, sturdy, and green/purple that's fine - it can take months before all the eyes chit equally, by which time the tuber will be but a shadow of its former self (although still plantable!)

I appreciate that Jay. However regarding my original question:

Keep them warmer?
Keep them colder?

A lttle bit warmer sometimes works, but as Jay says.........it doesn't matter!

Not all varieties have long chits.  My vanessa spuds have been chitting for a month or so, and the chits are about 1/2 cm long.  It may be that yours aren't going to grow any longer.

They'll be fine  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

The Maris Bards put really good strong purple and green chits out. The King Teds aren't too bad, neither are the Romano. The British Queen are less good, but the Maris Piper and Desiree are quite a way behind.

So it can't really be the storage conditions. Must be the Tayties.

Another quickie. We all see "Bostons" for sale, but what variety are they? Bard?
