All you guttersnipes. . . .
« on: March 28, 2012, 20:41 »

How do you stop the soil from washing out of the ends of your lengths of guttering holding your precious pea seeds?   I've tried 'gaffa / duck (or is it duct) tape.      Cheers,     Tony.

I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I line the gutters with cling film or polythene and fold the ends up an secure with sellotape - works fine.

I've used gaffa tape, will be removed prior to sliding plants out of said guttering
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

You could also use gutter ends that are designed for the job...

I've found a method that no one has ever tried before, forget gutters, pots, trays, root trainers.......

Dig a ditch and throw them in the ground.

Radical?

Hey - that's the type of guy I am!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

The reason I ask is.  .  .  .

I have a quantity of marine ply and a 4" hole cutter.  If anyone wants disks of 4" marine ply to cut in half (or if requested, pre cut) to screw to the ends of guttering.   Send me a Self adressed Stamped Envelope big enough and I'll send them out.

A donation to the R.N.L.I.  is all I ask.      Cheers,       Tony.
