Having very little garden space, I'm having to resort to containers. Something I would very much love to grow are broadbeans. Question: can anyone recommend what size containers I would need? The type I'm planning on trying grow to approx. 1 metre in height.

The bigger the better really, so that they don't get too crowded.  12", 18" if you can manage it.  I'd say minimum Also make sure that it has some depth so as to anchor the plants when they get taller.

When I dug the remains up last autumn, the roots went about twelve to fifteen inches down
