I am preparing my beds for planting and I have a dilemma! I need to plant my potatoes, but to get a 3 year crop rotation I need to plant the potatoes where the strawberry bed was last year. The problem with this is the area is quite shaded for much of the day, my question is: would I be better to plant them in full sun on a 2 year crop rotation, or risk them in the semi shade? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I would "risk" them in the shaded area, they have lots of foliage that will photosynthesise (spelling) no problem there.
If you have been able to get strawberrys to ripen there then they'll be fine.

Thanks Stompy,  I may give it a go this year and see, your right the strawberries ripened quite well! my potatoes have been so successful the last two years, I am don't want to be buying expensive, tasteless supermarket ones this summer 

Dam.....that means a whole lot more work for me then!!!! Oh well, as they say "fruits of your labour"
