I've just harvested some today and look great, my question is can I save a couple and re plant them for this year how does that work

Definitely!  in fact if you just leave some there (and you probably will - not questioning your gardening but I have yet to dig up a whole patch without leaving some behind!) they'll grow on.

I started with a medium sized net bag of them a couple of years ago and now they're taking over!

If you dig them up and they start to shrivel (can happen after a couple of weeks out of the ground), just put them in some water to rehydrate and replant where you want them.

Edit:  In fact, if anyone wants any just let me know - I'm kind of overrun by them just now!

There is a school of thought that says not to plant them in the first instance!

As Suzi implies, you may find you've got a patch of them anyway.

Thanks for that. Going to move them as I have got a half plot to myself  and going to stick in a corner.

Good idea.  get them in the ground as soon as you can 'cause they'll start chitting soon enough.
