hi all been reading this forum since spring and acting on everyones advice and comment let me to a great first season with peas, beans, carrots, parsnips, sweetcorn and many more and all have been good :D  :D . now i have alot spare room on my patch and was hoping to use it instead of being empty over winter and hope that someone can point me in the right direction and with what :?  :)

check the recent posts kev on "  garlic ".and  " spanish onions "  .. try search these words you will also pul up lots of other stuff you can put in matey :wink:  :lol:

ALso I have some spring greens in, I did get them a couple of weeks ago from the agrden centre but it was only £1.50 for 12 plants so worth it. ALso they would be out in time for planting next year.
If you know anyone on you site with leeks that need thinning you could put some in (I think.. not too late ?)
I have been given a clump by a fellow on the site who just threw seeds on the ground.. he had given me waht looks like a  clod of grass, but in fact they are leeks.

Broad beans
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I'v got "Flower of spring" greens, Leeks, overwinter garlic (3 types) onions, and shallots.

What variety of peas overwinter best Aunty? :D

 :oops: The packet is in the lottie shed, so I'm not quite sure  :(  but it says on the packet "ideal for autmn sowing".  I think they're from T&M  :?  :?

never had no look with winter peas  :cry: but i'm giving broad beans(sutton) ago and they have just popped up this week.

i got two greenhouses with just afew chillis, some lettuce and some geraniums sat in 'em. seems a waste with all that space. is there anything else i can grow in them while i wait until feb to start sowing seedlings in trays?   i'm thinkink about an electric greenhouse heater, but do they cost a lot to run? :shock:

Never grown over-wintering peas before, but this year have planted Meteor. They are now about 8" tall,  only been in three weeks, so fingers crossed.
