Covering carrots and parsnips against carrot root fly.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Occasional blanket for anything tender at frostie times.

Keep the rest safe. They are far from everlasting.

I was going to say "keeping myself warm in this weather", then I realised that you weren't talking about that sort of fleece.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I just put some over my onion sets at home to keep the blackbirds from hoiking them out, now that the tips are just poking through

Over seed trays in the greenhouse on frosty nights

I sometimes use it as a strainer  :)

It will mainly be going over all my seedlings in the unheated greenhouse, every night, (when I get them going).

I also put it flat, over my parsnip, carrot and beetroot seeds when they have been sown.  I water through it and find it keeps the soil damper for longer (until they have germinated.  This also stops the pigeons and sparrows from eating them as soon as my back it turned.

thank you.

I have never used it for that as I prefer plastic.

Fleece goes over my new potatoes to protect the shoots from frost

Hi Rachelk i find useing fleece as frost protection gains you between 1 and 2 degrees however as sunshineband has just mentioned i use plastic / cloches for warming soil up.
