I tried to buy hemcore today but can't buy it localy. I bought miscanthus as I was told this was the closest thing they had to it and would look into obtaining some hemcore for me to buy. Has anyone used miscanthus before?

I've used it in the run.  I think it's good, it dries out quite quickly if it gets wet.  I tip out a bale of it and the chooks love to rummage through it (and spread across the run in the process)

  I'm glad it's good stuff. I have used it as bedding in the broody coop and made a nest bit with it ready for our hens arrival later today.

You can buy it at smilers farm on the outskirts of basildon pound lane they have a web page think I just paid £6 and have a run of 7x4 the bag may do 3 fillings and have found it preferable to wood chips
