Hi

I took over my plot at the tail end of last year and planted a couple of rhubarb crowns; one 'shop bought' the other a cutting from another allotment patch.  They've grown away well, look strong and healthy and nothing has been harvested.  My question is what do I do with them now?  Do I just leave them alone now until next winter (with a mulch of manure to help them on the way) or do I need to cut them back at all.  I've had no flowers yet; I have read these need taking out should they appear.

Just leave the rhubarb to do its own thing and look forward to eating it next year

I wondered if this might be the plan; thanks for the reassurance.   I shall use the winter to perfect my crumble and custard making skills :-)

when the rhubarb dies back I remove the slimy stalks and leaves. then I mulch with fym
