Marking Poly Pots
« on: December 12, 2011, 08:11 »
Hi all,

I used black Poly pots for growing spuds in last year and very good it was too.  Unfortunately I did not mark what I had in each pot so it was a bit of a lucky dip.

I have seen these pots with teh variety marked on teh pot with white "ink", does any one know what sort of pen is used to do this?  Almost like a white paint pen if such a thing exists?

Not seem it done personally, but if you go to your local supermarket, in the section where they display shoe polish you should find some shoe whitening for sports shoes. It's usually in a squeezable tube much like toothpaste and has a foam applicator on the end so you can use it like a felt tip pen. It's water soluble, but when dry it is fairly rain proof.

You should be able to find a white marker pen in most stationery shops, and I think I've seen one in the stationery section at my supermarket.

I use a Pilot Super Colour white marker which I bought off ebay. It says it's permanent and believe me, it is!
