[Tattie Bogle]

Hello,

not been here for a while but could do with some advice. Here is the story... on my drive to work I see a chicken that beds down in a hedge and spends it days in the surrounding fields. Nearby is a poultry farm, not sure if it's for eggs or meat but I think this little hen (we call her Pearl) has probably escaped from there (we occasionally see chickens out on the loose along the dirt track so maybe the security is low). Anyway she sleeps on the other side of  the field and doesn't seem to be likely to wander back. With the weather turning colder I am concerned about this little hen (Pearl), is there anyone we can get to help? I don't know who owns the land or how to even find out. Any advice would be most welcome!

What an independent little hen!  Have you tried contacting and talking to the owners of the poultry farm?  If they don't own the land they may know who does. 
Hens usually like company so you could try contacting RSPCA or a hen rescue charity to find a flock for her.  I hope there is a good outcome for her.  She is one lucky lady to have escaped Mr fox so far.
I am sure there will be others on here who can advise you more specificly in the meantime good luck and keep us posted.
