Can I trim the Pepper plants to aid ripening?
« on: September 12, 2011, 14:41 »
It seems for months that all my Sweet Peppers have been and still are green. Can I trim back the leaves to help them ripen to red or ripen at home?

all they need is some warmth to turn, ::) but won't ripen off the plant  :(

I'm not at all sure that trimming them back would make any difference, but it sure won't do any harm as long as the fruit is full-size already :)

I've got the same problem and I shall move the plants indoors. Worked last year.
When they finished I cut them back and kept them over Winter. The ones that survived gave the best and earliest crops.
Can I do it again?

They might need repotting this time around as the compost will start to turn to dust after a while - lck of organic material
