uninterested hen
« on: September 15, 2011, 19:30 »
Hi
One of my hens has become uninterested in everything, the usual scramble for the afternoon treat is just four of them the other one stands to one side and lets the others eat the treats, she seems to have distanced herself from the rest and has started standing on her own in the corner on one leg,she is approx 36 week old,she eats the mash and drinks water just appears to fell out with the rest. any ideas?

When did you last worm her and  treat her for lice?
Have you checked your coop for redmite?
Is she moving around OK when she does move or is she limping, moving stiffly?
What have you been feeding her?
are her eyes clear or watery?
What colour is her comb?
Does she have a temperature?  You can take this by feeling under her wing then using the same hand to feel under the wing of one of your healthy girls.
What is her pooh like.  If you type pooh pictures into the search box you should call up some pictures.
