Ok.
Being new to chicken keeping I am suddenly baffled by my Speckledy.

She started laying around a month ago and for the past day or 2 has not come out of the nest, apart from when I let her out in the garden for a bit with the other 4 chickens.

Thinking she was eggbound ( she has not laid for the 2 days either) , I have given her a bath as read as a suggestion on the net. ( 30 minutes soak and she enjoyed it as far as I can gather!)

I could not feel an egg and she has not laid since.

I am now thinking... is it possiible she has become Broody?

It does sound like she is broody.  Does she object when you try to take her off the nest, and growl and/or try to peck you?

Assuming you don't want her to hatch any eggs, try shooing her off the nest at every opportunity. You may be able to break her broodiness if you have caught her early enough and if she is not too determined.
