Can I add, there's a guy in Throckley (Northumberland) that does POL's, he isn't listed in the advert web link thingy, only has one of those roadside boards at his entrance.

All the lotty peeps' around me go only to him (I didn't know about him when I bought mine), and I've seen some of the hens people have bought off him, and they are clean healthy and happy.

Think they only paid about a £5 per bird too

There`s a stack of chicken adverts in the Ad Trader magazine. 72 of them in Durham. I get it on line. adtrader.co.uk.

I got 4 black rock hens from High Spen which is not too far.  Here is a link with the details, just click on the map near Newcastle to get the contact details.

Our hens are from here, there was lots of good advice for us as newbies too with good after sales.

i did look into buying them from durham hens (tow law) but at £12.50 a hen it is going to work out quite expensive for 8. i brought the coop quite cheap 30 pounds but my dad has made me a walk in run 10ft by 8ft which has came in at around 100 pound+ for materials. as i am quite new to this i would prefer to probably spend about 5-6 pound a hen. thanks x

I recently got some R.I.R pullets from Potters at Thirsk, they were 16 weeks old, they cost  about £6.30 each.
If you are interested please PM me and I will send you the phone number.
