Hi GrannieAnnie,
Glad your chooks are getting sorted. I mentioned this before but worth mentioning again for anyone interested. Whenever my chooks get a bloodied wound i clean it with antisceptic wash and smother it in Teatree cream. Teatree acts quickly and is a great healer and the other chooks dont like the smell or taste so it stops them pecking each other. It works on all my animals.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

Can we remove the Sticky now that the emergency seems to be over?  IMHO having too many Stickies detracts from their usefulness.

I'll turn it back into an ordinary post WG!

Thanks for the info about the teatree Frenchconnection.  I thought I still had some, but must have given it to my daughter.  I'll look out next time I can get into a town!

Is lettuce and sweetcorn okay for 11 day old chicks Munty?  The hatchery said to give them only chick crumb for the first 4 weeks.  I trust your word implicitly! Just didn't want to do anything to make them poorly.

Small flocks are okay. I'll have to work on this one.  Anyone got 4 small sheds they don't want???  lol

Its just so strange that it was the ones we moved out of the first shed that started pecking, while the 150 that are still in there, are fine, happy, fat, etc etc etc!!!!

They have now gone through 4 20kgs bags of chick crumb!!!! in 11 days!!!

I'll try it tomorrow Karl.  Thanks for all your help over the past few days!

And Aunty, don't bother, my OH is past help, believe me!!!  I've spent the past 19 years trying to make him 'normal'  and I've given up!

Well, thanks to Munty's lettuce, they seem a bit happier now.  Brian did find another one pecked yesterday, so now I've got about 30 chicks with hardly any tail feathers. Just when they were starting to grow too!

The pecked ones are at the moment in BIG cardboard boxes in the dining room!  Boy do they make a noise when they've eaten all their chick crumbs!  Got to sort out another shed, but I'm working on that one, especially as its getting colder at nights.
