I am over run with earwigs, they are eating my runner beans, cabbage, lettuce, potato leaves, rubbarb leaves. How can I get rid of them

Is it a good year for earwigs because I too have noticed a lot of them about!

I think there are licensed chemicals for them, although not sure if they are licensed for use on veggies.

However, the traditional way is to place upturned plant pots (small ones) on canes, stuffed with straw or similar.  The earwigs come out at night and then retreat there during the day - you should be able to stamp on them when you empty the pot.

Here too. I am verging on phobic about them and remember asking this question here when I was new, as I didn't know the answer. I'm finding large numbers of them in the lettuces, as usual, and also in the red onions..
