Onions
« on: July 17, 2011, 20:44 »
Last autumn, I planted both onion and garlic sets which were advertised as being intended for autumn planting.  Although both sets of plants look healthy, neither have formed bulbs (the onions do keep bolting but not the garlic).  Have I done something wrong?

Dry conditions will cause onions to bolt an fail to fill out.

Have you dug one of the garlics up? Unlike onions, they will form underground.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thank you.  I'm not sure that things were particularly dry.  However, I will dig one of the garlics tomorrow and repoert - er - sir!
