It might be helpful if you can provide as many details as possible even if you think the info is unimportant, and then an experience poultry keeper might be able to help you.  Have your chickens been wormed recently?  When you say cold like symptoms can you be more specific?  Do you mean coughing, head shaking, sneezing etc?  Do your chickens free range?  Have you taken them to a vet?
