I want to enter some leeks in the Newent onion Fair next year having visited last week.

I have only grown for our kitchen so far

The ones I saw were enormous - where can I get some leek pips with show winning potential??

robinsons sell em david i'm getting some this year myself and welcome aboard,
they blanch them in pipe lagging but i think theres more to it than that though

Yes I grew the robinson ones this year - The blanch ones

There's a lot of information on the National Vegetable Society web site that should help you - they have a DVD on the subject of growing exhibition blanch leeks - there's a clip from the DVD in the NVS shop.
