I've just had 4 female flowers fail to set fruit on my two Butternut squash plants. I gave them all a hand with pollination but no joy. The plants themselves are quite happy. Lots of nice green leaves and the vines are continuing to grow.

Any suggestions or have I just been unlucky?

I don't think they normally set fruit until much later in the season, that's been my experience the last two years anyway.

Nothing unusual as far as squash, pumpkins, courgettes.................. are concerned.

As said, they're later starters, they usually go when you're given up all hope.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
