Hi
I noticed you bought from the welll known auction site, can I add to the above that once you get it into the ground and it starts to bud, if the buds/flowers are pink then I think its wild, bocking 14 has a nice purple flower. I bought two sets from said site and the first is 14 but the second is not as I have noticed it is starting to spread, it has a pink flower and doesn't grow upwards. I just keep it trimmed and use it in the composter, and towards the end of this season it will be getting a good dose of roundup.
I now have four plants going (bocking 14) and they are now 2 yrs old and that does me for my small plot, enough for at least 3 cuts per year.
Made tea with last cut of last year and its wonderful stuff, overwintered has done it well.
I use an old beer making bin, lid seals well and a small hole on top. I also use the drums my chicken pellets come in, must have a lid to seal in the goodness - when you open your lid for the first time you'll find out why it has to be sealed.
