Kohlrabi gratin

This is in the oven as we speak, attempting to empty last years stuff out the spare freezer now as it's getting to the point where they're both full again so having a cook up.

Serves 4 (I halved everything as I only had half the amount of kohlrabi)

1kg kohlrabi
3 tbsp fresh parsley
50g butter
300ml single cream
100g cheddar, grated
1 lemon (I didn't have any so I used a lime!)

Peel kohlrabi, cut in half and slice thinly. Put half in gratin dish and sprinkle with 1/2 the parsley
Finely grate lemon rind and sprinkle half on top of kohlrabi
Dot over half the butter and season with salt and black pepper
Put remaining kohlrabi, parsley and lemon rind on top. Dot with remaining butter & pour over cream.
Top with grated cheese and bake at 190C (gas mark 5) for 60 minutes until tender.

Don't count the fat/cholesterol content ;)
