Ying Yang and Pea bean
« on: June 12, 2011, 10:50 »
I have been given some seeds of Ying Yang beans and Pea Beans. I was told that Ying Yang are dwarf type and Pea Beans are climbers.

Has anyone grown these?

I'm growing these this year too  :D  I know Pea Beans are definitely climbers from growing them before, and Yin Yan are dwarf type.

we grow yin yangs every year - the ones we have are dwarf, and i've never read about a climbing version.

I quite liked them as a green bean (they're flat podded, but bumpy because the beans get quite big), my wife wasn't so keen, but they are top notch shelled and used as a bean in chilli con carne and such, either fresh or dried and resoaked.
