I don't know about chickens in this situation. However, quail make good birds for living in the bottom of an aviary. They clean up dropped food but DO need to be fed as well! They are good for eggs and if you wish for eating.

I've read a few stories on here of chickens catching and killing smaller birds.  Personally I wouldn't keep them in a confined space with little birds like quails or finches.  It might end in heart-break.

Yea im pretty sure it would be Finch pie if the chickens got half a chance, they are evil little raptors at dinner time!
