Netting / Cloches
« on: May 31, 2011, 12:27 »
Hi folks i found this on the web and wondered if anyone had used it before?

http://rayaylott.webs.com/gardencloches.htm

It does look fairly strong compared to some of the other stuff i have seen and the price is not to bad if it will last the test of time.

Any feedback is most appreciated.

Cheers

For that price, you're 2/3 of the way to a 50m x 2m roll of debris netting. Wouldn't waste my money on it.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Totally agree with DD there  :)

15mm netting might stop the birds, but certainly will not stop the cabbage white butterflies.

Ive never heard of debris netting but doing a search i now know what my neighbour gave me to stop my kids kicking balls over the wall!

I thought that the size of the holes where going to be to small for any type of growing.

Cheers for that looks like ill be going down this route.

Having dumped 6 wheelbarrow loads of carrots due to fly in the first year on this plot, I find it well worth the investement. It'll last years.

This Debris netting looks great value - I take it the guage is small enough to stop carrot fly and butterflies and the rest of the like??

Debris netting mesh size is small enough to stop cabbage white butterflies but to stop carrot flies you need something finer (enviromesh is the best known but it has its competitors these days.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
