I know some animals can be stubborn with food to the point of starvation, and was just wondering if chickens are the same or will they eventually eat layers pellets. Mine are used to being totally free range and eating anything lying about, but now they're in their own section, I only give them layers, shell and grit, with the weeds from the garden and odd kitchen scraps....no daily treats of any description, just as and when.

I'm guessing survival instincts will kick in before they starve to death. Bit like children if they are hungry enough they will eat it
