first egg piping
« on: May 20, 2011, 06:18 »
Hello all,

just wondered if anyone can give me a rough idea on how long it can take for a chick to hatch from the time it starts piping, i noticed it late last night and expected to see a chick this morning but its still the same, i have 5 eggs in the incubator on day 20 so im not too worried at the moment but as this is my first hatch wondered if any of you guys could tell me.

thanks Kev

How exciting!  I am not an expert and I'm sure more experienced people will be along to give you advice.  However, as I understand it, the process can take as long as 48 hours.  Good luck and keep us posted.  :)
