Is this for cases where the Naughty Step is insufficient punishment ??

no it didnt the scales are dead like finger nails, a small amount was put on a soft cloth and then rubbed on the legs to the featherline not going on the skin. cured the problem in a dday with new scales coming through soon after ,and others returning to normal. its the bird trying to peck at the mites that makes the scales lift

The  Buffs look so much better this week, I think the scales are ok now it was dirt and muck stuck to them mainly, they are a whole lot cleaner than when they arrived but I will keep an eye on it to make double sure.  I had a good look today and can't see any problems there. How do you tell an old bird from a younger one I am not sure of the age of these but suspect they might be older than I was led to believe  :(

Difficult to say how old they might be.  If the scales on their ankles are lifting a bit I'd say about 2 years old.  What were you told ?

Can you use Stockholm Tar for scaly-leg? Or is that the same as creosote?
