Would I be right in thinking that your raised bed may also obviate potential frost danger Prakash?

errrrrr..... pardon??? 
my toms have been in outside since mid april and never came in. the raised bed is a lean to the wall which radiates heat all night (takes in sun for whole afternoon). last year (with the cold we had) the geraniums and aster until 3rd week of november so I am keeping my fingers crossed

That sounds pretty fine to me Prakash!

What I meant was, do raised beds assist by keeping plants that much further off the ground - or the 'grass' frost which I keep hearing these days?
